Behavior-Related Causes
1.Stress
Are you a worrywart? Do you stress out over the littlest detail? Then chances are you have a bloated stomach. When a person feels stressed his or her stress hormones increase which causes the stomach and the colon to go into spasms. This is according to a GI doctor in Norfolk, Virginia. Also, stress often promote junk-food binges, sweets, sodas, and other salty foods which, as you already know, results to bloating.
1.Aerophagia
This is the medical term for air swallowing. You may think that nobody in his or her right state of mind will swallow air but you may be one of the thousands who are guilty of such habit. If you are eating too hurriedly, wearing loose-fitting dentures (for reasons that are only clear to you), fond of drinking through a straw, gulping beverages, chewing gum, sucking candies, and smoking, then you are swallowing too much air. Excess air can create gas which leads to a bloated stomach.
2.No Exercise
If you are a great believer of exercising as a way to lose weight and you do not have a plus-size body, then you may not be a fan of exercises. But you may change your mind after reading this. According to Dr. Michael D. Levitt, a notable gastroenterologist and the Associate Chief of Staff at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, “Exercising helps the body absorb gases in the colon.” The less you exercise the higher is your chance of being bloated.
